Empowering Every Learner is a dynamic professional development experience designed specifically for special educators, interventionists, instructional leaders, and classroom teachers who support diverse learners.
Special education teachers are the architects of possibility. They navigate instruction, compliance, collaboration, intervention, and advocacy every single day. Doing this work effectively requires more than passion — it requires staying current on the laws that protect students, the instructional practices that accelerate growth, and the data that drives informed decision-making.
This engaging and practical workshop equips educators with research-based strategies and real-world tools that can be implemented immediately in classrooms, intervention settings, and IEP meetings. Participants will deepen their understanding of federal and state special education legislation, strengthen their ability to use student data to guide instruction, and explore meaningful ways to support students academically, behaviorally, and socially.
During this training, educators will:
- Strengthen their understanding of IDEA, accommodations, modifications, compliance expectations, and inclusive instructional practices
- Learn how to maintain and utilize student snapshots and data trackers to support targeted instruction and progress monitoring
- Explore hands-on manipulatives and instructional resources that support diverse learning needs and engagement
- Develop strategies for creating student-centered and interest-driven reading inventories that increase motivation and access
- Gain clarity around their role in the IEP process, including preparation, collaboration, communication, and goal development
- Examine strategies for differentiation, small-group instruction, and scaffolding that promote access and achievement for all learners
